Training in Brunei

I was browsing through the latest search on my name and discovered that I am on RadioTelevisyen Brunei. It was 5 years ago that I conducted a training session in Brunei and there was a television crew recording the session. That night I was on air in Brunei!

ASEAN-EC Workshop to Teach Interpersonal Skills

The success of an organisation depends very much on the ability of the individuals to work effectively with others. The mastering of interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to negotiate, resolve conflicts and maintain effective communication becomes one of the key criteria to an organisation’s success.

The Director of the ASEAN-EC Management Centre, Awang Abdul Ghani underscored this at the opening of a workshop on “Effective Interpersonal Skill and Communication”, Monday.

Topics being focused on at the two-day workshop will include competencies and techniques for effective communication, understanding people’s behaviour and managing and resolving conflict.

The workshop is conducted by a senior associate consultant from Malaysia.

According to Mdm. Muhaini Musa, every individual has their own technical skills and abilities. However, the number of people with interpersonal and communication skills is small. And in the years ahead, individuals need to develop systematic means of analysing the environment, assessing the organisational strengths, weakness, constraints and opportunities and to plan and develop winning strategies to create and sustain competitive advantage. More than for representatives from both the government and private sectors attended the workshop.
